Swimming Lessons

Lily just completed two weeks of swimming lessons and I am amazed how well she can swim. She took lessons from a well known lady here in Macon and she is no joke! She knows what she's doing and she gets these kids to swim! The first week was a bit rough with lots of tears. She wasn't freaking out like some of the other kids, but she would follow instructions with tears and sobs. Heartbreaking for a mom to watch, but I need her to be safe in the water this summer. By the middle of the second week, she was excited to go to her lessons and see Mrs. Julie. The last day, Lily jumped off the diving board, swam over to the ladder under water and got out all by herself. It was amazing!

Parents had to stay inside the pool house and squint through blinds to see. The last day, one of the other mom's snuck outside and took some pictures of the kids with her nice camera.

ABC's

Henry Looks

Just some recent pictures of Henry....

Pulling up on EVERYTHING! Especially the toybox!

We are trying to get him to keep a hat on...he pulls it off the second we put one on. So we've been putting one on a lot so he'll get used to it!

Another hat....

Looks like he's about to get mad...probably because there's no more food on his tray. This boy can EAT...unlike his sister! And yes, Lily is naked....who knows why...

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my sweet husband; the most fabulous daddy I know! And to my wonderful Dad and Father-in-law! I'm so lucky to have such wonderful men in my life!
Andrew said the cutest comment: "My first handmade coffee cup. I feel like a real dad now!"
Lily and I went to a pottery place and she painted this mug for Andrew. I just did the base color, and she did the rest! She was very proud of it!

Andrew and Henry. They matched for church today....so cute.

Andrew and his two little rascals! This is one happy Daddy!

So Andrew's birthday was this week too...and for some reason, I don't have many pictures to show for it. It was on Thursday, and of course, he had to work late so it was a pretty uneventful day....but we went on a date on Saturday to celebrate. :)

No More Passy!

We have been talking to Lily a lot about when she turns three she won't have her passy anymore. After much deliberation and discussion on how to ditch the passy, she pretty much came up with the idea herself. We recently visited the Library and picked out a Fancy Nancy book for the first time. She really liked the book so told me that she wanted to buy a Fancy Nancy with her passy. I figured the best place for that would be Toys R Us. Of course, they only had Fancy Nancy dolls at Christmas time, so after searching the entire store...she decided on a new baby, which she named Baby Nancy.

I told the cashier that we were paying for the doll with the passy. So Lily handed her her passy and the girl gave Lily the receipt. The deal was done. The passy was GONE!

We celebrated with Cold Stone Icecream after the store. Half blue, half pink, with lots of sprinkles!!!

That night, she cried for about 30 minutes for her passy. The next day for her nap, she asked for it a few times; but I kept reminding her that she gave it to the lady at the store and bought baby Nancy. She was sad, but did much better than I had anticipated. I think I about cried myself at the store when the passy was handed over!! But she has been a champ!!

Lily turns 3!!

My little girl is THREE!! We had a fun party for her at Amerson Water Works park in Macon (after Andrew's triathlon) and ALL her favorite people were there! Of course: numero uno! Love this picture of them. They are such sweet friends.

Lily got a new tricycle, which she LOVES! She rides it really well; I think she'll need a big bike by Christmas!

Lily loves to sing happy birthday, but it was especially fun having everyone sing it to HER!!

We have been practicing saying that she is THREE now, and holding up three fingers!! (Her friends Harlee, Eliza and Memphis are next to her)

She got a lot of fun gifts. Here are her new rainboots and umbrella from MeMe and Poppa.

Opening more presents (with Gates and Memphis beside her).

A cool box from one of her gifts that Henry and our friend Jack decided to play in!

It was so hot that day. You can tell from all the rosy cheeks and sweaty kids. But, the park had a shelter covering the picnic tables, which was a life saver!
After naps/quiet time, we went to the pool with the Clarkes and had a great time as always!

I cannot believe I have a three year old! Lily is a great helper at home; loves to help me clean and cook in the kitchen. She is quite the entertainer and loves to sing and dance for us. She is constantly singing something. She wants to pick out her clothes and get dressed by herself; everything is "me do it, mommy, I'm three!" Her language has improved dramatically over the last few weeks; it's amazing. She has new words every day. She is so loving and affectionate; I love snuggling with her.

Andrew's Triathlon

Andrew competed in his first triathlon today!! It was a Sprint distance, so a 750m swim, 15 mile bike, and a 5k run. He finished in about 1hour 30 minutes. Lily, Henry and I were out there supporting him and had a great time watching for him during all of his events and watching the other competitors too! We are so proud of him! Way to go DAD! :)

We got there in time to see him before he started. Lily was so excited to give him a good luck kiss!Running the 5K...almost to the finish line!

Way to go Andrew!!!

Lily has really started talking a lot more lately. She was very excited to see daddy's "race", and watch him "swim, bike and run".

Henry: 10 months old today

Hank the Tank, as Andrew has begun to call him, is 10 months old today!

I mean, seriously...these two adore eachother. She's all over him most of the time, but he is usually smiling no matter what she dishes out. It's going to get interesting when he gets big enough to fight back!

Help!!

This is a classic Henry face...such a sweet, happy boy!
If I had a video of this one, his arms would be waving and his legs would be kicking! He gets "whole body" excited!

Henry has discovered the stairs, and I can't go up them without him practically leaping out of my arms to crawl up them himself! All I can say is thank goodness for baby gates!!! He must have an eye on me at all times; big time mama's boy right now. He loves to eat. His favorites right now are yogurt, sweet potato bites, macaroni and cheese, bananas and wheat bread. Usually as long as I can make it a finger food, he's good to go. He loves playing at Lily's kitchen. He tried to stand up on EVERYTHING. He likes anything that makes a lot of noise.
