Trip to Denver, CO

I took my kids out to Denver to see my friends Gray and Jen. It was exhausting being a single mom for 5 days, but it is always so fun to see my good friends. The flight was challenging on my own with both kids; and Henry is a big "lap baby", but we made it without any huge meltdowns or disasters. We stayed with Jen in her basement, so when my kids got up at 5 am every morning, we could hang out in the basement without waking everyone else up! We went to parks, a pool, played in their awesome backyards, climbed all over Jen's dog and chased around Gray's cat...we had a blast! And both Jen and Gray are pregnant so next time we get together we'll have two more crazy kids!!!

They LOVED watching the planes at the airport.

Here's a goldfish picnic in Jen's backyard. It was actually a bit chilly in Denver, which was a welcomed change from the scorching heat in Macon!

Gray and Jen both bought Lily cute new sundresses for her birthday! This one is from Gray...she LOVES the headband!!

Three kids across in Gray's car! I think Roan was a bit dumbfounded by the noise these two additional passengers could make!!

An attempt to get all four kids in one picture...not very easy...

Lily, Henry, Roan and Emma

Emma is still on two naps a day...so unfortunately she wasn't in very many of my pictures...

Lily turns 4!

My vivacious little girl turned 4 today! Wow! That seems so old! We had a rough day though! Our brand new van wouldn't start that morning and had to be towed to the dealer for a new battery. Our A/C stopped working and we had to have that repaired. BUT, inspite of all of that, we had a great time celebrating Lily's day! We started the morning with decorating a shirt that says "I'm 4!"

Then Lily and I went and got pedicures. It was sooo much fun. She had never had one done professionally, and she loved it. She was so well behaved and giggled and talked with the guy the entire time. It was awesome. What a terrific memory I will have of that.

Later that evening, we had a few friends over for pizza and an Ariel cake. My spunky little 4 year old. Never a dull moment!

Her last treat of the day was a bubble bath!! Daddy even turned on the jets!!!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Lily Jane. She gives us so much joy and laughter! She loves to sing, play mommy to her many babies, boss her little brother around and be so incredibly sweet to him too, has a smile that lights up a room and an extraordinarily curious little mind -- always asking why?! We love you, Lily!!

The Perdue's come to visit!

One advantage to living in GA near my parents is that my siblings come to visit them and I get to see them too!! The Perdue's came to GA for a week and we had a blast playing with them!

Wednesday they drove down to Macon to play at our house, go to the pool, and have dinner with us. Meagan also helped me sew a dress for Lily and she finished Lily's matching dress for pictures. I love this picture. Lily and all her babies. She looks so grown up!

The baby snatcher....

Henry and Wendy played in the kiddie pool a little...

Later in the week, we all met up at Mom and Dad's for some more cousin time! We swam in their pool and tried to get some pictures of all our kids together. It was sooo hot and humid, we were all drenched in sweat. The kids did good considering... Meagan made all the matching dresses for the girls. Isn't she amazing?!?

Last pit stop for more pictures before heading home for dinner. Andrew, Henry and I went home to get dinner started, so Henry missed out on this picture. But he was "done" by then anyway...it probably would have been a nightmare to get him to cooperate. Such a fun week! Thanks for coming to visit Perdue family! They are about to head off to Thailand for a few years so we are so glad we got to see them before they go!
