Lily's latest

So now that I have two kids...I guess I need to do two posts!!! It seems weird to lump Lily's latest craziness and Henry updates together. I guess eventually they can be in the same posts, but I'll keep them separate for now. Anyway, here's a few of Lily lately. She's getting a lot better with the new baby around and pretty much back to herself; thank goodness!!!
So I took her to get a hair cut the other day. What part of "please don't cut the bangs straight across" is hard to understand? Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I've got them kind of swept to the side here, they really are a lot worse than they look here. Obviously, I won't be going back there again. Oh well. It's just hair, right? Ugh.

So since Henry is still so young and it's so hot outside, Lily and I are having to get much more creative indoors. Here are some pictures of our recent "activites"....
Playdough is always a big hit. (notice, the 'no pants'. She doesn't like to wear them lately...hmm. Atleast we make her put them on before we go outside!)

Her favorite show right now is Caillou. One episode he and his friends start a marching band...so here she is with her drum and her marching band hat, just like Caillou's. We march around the house, playing drums and singing. Good times, good times!!

Henry 3 weeks

Lily really loves holding Henry now, and asks to hold him all of the time. We basically just plop him across her lap, and she'll sit with him for a few minutes until she's bored or he starts to fuss.

Henry: 2 1/2 weeks

Henry was pretty alert this afternoon so we snapped a few pics with his eyes open!

Over the shoulder is his favorite spot!

At his 2 week appt, he was already 9.12 lbs and 22 inches. I'd say he's getting PLENTY of food!! What a little porker!! :)

Lily's first day of preschool

Lily had her first day of 2K preschool today. She will go Tuesday and Thursday's from 9-12. Doesn't she look so grown up? She was so excited to go, and walked right in to her class without looking back! When I picked her up, she was still smiling, so I'd say it was a success! I am really excited for her. I think she's going to have a great time!

Henry Week 2

The blue ball is back!! We used our big exercise ball to calm Lily, and it works for Henry too!

Meme and Poppa came up on Saturday for a quick visit

and some baby holdin'

They brought Lily this adorable tutu and princess shoes...I think she'd sleep in them if we'd let her!

Family visits

Here are pictures of Henry's first visitors:
During the Clarke's visit, Britt got a picture of all the kids on my front steps.
(Kaylin, Allie, Lily, Ethan and Aidrian)

Kaylin sang Henry pretty songs. She was very sweet and excited to see him.

Mom, stealing a moment with the babe

Ethan meeting Henry; he was shy at first; it was cute.

When Brittany and kids came over Friday, the 7th, she took a few "first pictures" of Henry...

Sunday 8/9/09

Just a couple of pictures from today; Henry is still doing terrific. Bilirubin is going back down, weight is coming back up. He's eating about every 3 hours, but you sure forget just how time consuming a little baby can be! Even changing a diaper takes forever...and then he pees all over everthing or poops again just as soon as you've finished!
This is my absolute favorite way to hold my babes! I could stay like this all day!

There is nothing sweeter than a peacefully sleeping babe.

My sleeping men!

First day at home...

After a better...although still sleepless night at home, here are few pics of Henry's first day at home. He is eating like a champ...a bit TOO good, I would say. He doesn't want to stop! So to give myself a break, we tried a passy...and it worked wonders! We do love passy's in this house. Anyway, he has been resting much better now so I'm able to get some pictures up.

Lily is much more interested in Henry today. She was very excited to hold him.

She had to make sure all his body parts were there...we found his eyes, nose, ears, hands....and feet! Yep! All 5 toes are there!

You can see he's getting a little jaundice...we went to the Pediatrician this morning, but haven't heard back what his bilirubin was yet. We'll go back one more time on Saturday to make sure he's doing OK. But with the way he's eating, I'm sure he'll be fine. He weighed 7lbs, 14oz this AM and othewise checked out PERFECT! :)

Heading home...

Hmmm....How many things can go wrong while in the hospital? Since my mom has been here, our TV died, mom had a fender-bender, our power went out for a couple of hours, we had an ant infestation in the kitchen...seriously!! My poor mom! She's never going to want to come back!
Anyway, here's just a picture I took while hanging out with my man.

Andrew and his son.

So once we found out the power was back on at home, we packed it up and headed out! Hospitals are no fun, and the night nurse wasn't extremely helpful anyway, so we figured it would be better at home. We got home around 9:30pm.

Homeward bound!

At the hospital...

Day 1, Lily gets to come up for a quick visit and meet Henry for the first time before bed. She wasn't too sure what to think and was more worried about my "owies" than the baby. Too many distractions at a hospital!

Meme got to spend some time with Henry the next morning before heading back to Brunswick. She came up the night before for the birth but he came so late, no one really got a chance to see him much.

Grandma brought Lily and Allie (who is also staying with us this week) up to the hospital later the next morning too.

And for the record, this is how my husband spent much of the first day of his son's life...he had cases all day 1 floor down from us, so he was back and forth, on the phone, busy busy busy. But someone's gotta pay for the baby, right? :)

Henry!!

Tuesday, August 4th, 12:30pm. After waiting all morning to go in for my induction (and thinking I was going to deliver over the weekend....but nothing!!), we finally got the green light to come in! So off we go to have a baby!!

Water broken by 2pm, Epidural in by 3. Playing Sudoku on Andrew's iPhone: Life is good.

Henry's grand entrance at 7:21pm. 8lbs 7oz, 21 inches.

And then we were 4!

Ahhh-Chooooo!

I LOVE this video! Lily learned how to "sneeze", which I think is absolutely adorable. This is a common scene in our house these days too: playing at her awesome kitchen from Meme and Poppa, in her little apron and my heels.
