Milking Day!

We try to get together with Brittany and her kids as often as we can...especially if we have a holiday off school!  Monday was M L King Day.  Do any of you remember Dad calling it "Milking day?"  Ha ha.  Anyway, we headed to Peachtree City with Mom for the day!  (I was still carless after my window incident, so Andrew drove us all up to Atlanta, met Mom at Atlanta Medical Center, drove down to the Clarkes in her car, stayed the night in Atlanta and took M&D to the airport to see Em's family in the am while we used their car for the week! Phew!  But thank goodness that worked out.  My car took over a week to get fixed!)
Here's Lil, lovin' on Ashlynn!

And Henry too.  My kids are all over this poor girl!  Although, she's probably used to it being the 4th child...

At the cool park around the corner from the Clarkes.  Yes, Henry has pink shoes on.  The kids were playing in the creek behind the house (without over-protective me knowing about it) and Henry fell in, of course.  I had a change of clothes...but not another pair of shoes.  Poor guy.

Taking a ride on the golf cart.  Always a hit for my kiddos!

Andrew's marathon!!

Andrew ran his first Marathon today at Robins Air Force base in Warner Robins.  Of course, it was a frigid morning in the 30's so we bundled up to cheer dad on!!

There are old airplanes all over, so atleast there is something neat to look at while you wait!

Hurry up and wait!  That's how it always goes.  Finally we see him!!  We met him at the half way point...A turn around, unfortunately.  You can see the cone where the turn around for the marathoners was.  There were also people running a half.  We headed to a playground for a bit while he finished the second half.  Said he was feeling great at the half...

It's excrutiating waiting, as wives of "racers" know....  He was taking longer than he had planned...and your mind starts to wander and you fear he's passed out somewhere along the way.  But finally...here he comes!!!   We were near the finish line, so the kids ran out to meet him!

Not a lot of people ran the full marathon, as you can tell.  Not another racer in sight!

Henry wasn't quite fast enough to keep up and pooped out after about 10 seconds, but Lily ran in with her daddy!  Such a great moment! Go Andrew!!!!

Henry was off collecting sticks...his favorite activity at the moment, and wouldn't come back for a picture...oh well.  Great job babe!!  You can cross this one off your bucket list!

A busted window!

Driving down the interstate with the kids to meet Andrew for lunch...something hit the side of my car and completely shattered the side window!  Lily's friend, Eliza was in the seat right next to the window and Lily was right behind her.  They both had glass all over them!  It was really scary!  I am still amazed no one was hurt or cut.  I pulled over to move the girls away from the window and slowly drove to the next exit where we could meet Andrew.  We put the kids in his truck and he took the van to the dealer.  Turns out we need a whole new door because of where the "object" hit in the back, bottom corner...

Not sure I'll ever really know what hit my car or how it happened.  I'm just glad everyone was safe.  Definitely had some guardian angels around us today!

Park date

We took our neighbor Eliza with us to the park this afternoon.  The kids were having fun doing tricks on the bars above the slides.

I just thought this one was cute. Eliza was telling Lily a secret and I just love Lily's expression.  Pure joy.

Tears

This is my first blog post without a picture, but I wanted to document these two stories.

Lily has been asking a LOT of questions about heaven lately.  We've talked about how your body stays here but your spirit goes to heaven.  She has concluded that your spirit gets to heaven in a hot air balloon.  I don't really know what else to say about that one.  Anyway, in the car the other day, she told me she wanted to take her blanket and monkey to heaven...her most favorite things in the whole world!  I told her she can't bring anything with her.  She was quiet for a while and I looked back and she had tears streaming down her face.  I asked her what was wrong and she sobbed that she would really miss her monkey and blanket when she went to heaven!

Henry got The Lion King movie for Christmas!  We haven't actually sat down to watch it yet.  Henry really isn't in to TV yet so we've watched about 5 minutes of it so far.  But tonight they wanted to watch a movie so I tried it again.  I LOVE this movie, but haven't seen it in years.  So we were kinda skipping through it and got to when Mufasa dies after the wildebeest stampede.  When Simba comes down to see if his dad is OK, Henry's little lip starts quivering and he starts to cry.  Lily of course pipes up that it's ok because he's in heaven...ah! here we go again!  :)  I must also mention that Henry also cried in Frosty the Snowman when Frosty melts in the greenhouse and Karen is sobbing over him.  Such a tender heart he has!!

Forts

My kids idea of a fort these days is filling up Henry's crib with blankets and "soft things"...

Winter?

We haven't had much of a winter this year.  I can only think of a few times where we've needed more than sweatshirts...but one evening after dinner we actually had to bundle up for an evening walk!

iPods

For Christmas, the kids both got iPods. Well, Henry has an old iPod touch and Lily has Andrew's old phone.  But they are new to them!  I am going to have to start restricting them though...they are very addictive!  Especially to my little boy...
