Spring Break 2012

For a couple of days during the kids' spring break, we headed down to Hilton Head Island with our friends' the Elsworths.  Dad's had to stay behind and work, so it was just moms and kids.  The first day we were there, it was a little chilly, but that didn't stop the kids from playing in the sand and getting wet!

It was a little windy too...

Movie night!  We stayed at our friend Pam's condo from church.  It was perfect and close to everything!

Thankfully, the next day it was warm enough to get out and play at the beach.  The water was chilly, but we didn't mind.

Lily loved jumpin' the waves!

She was either jumping waves or playing in the sand.  We built a pretty cool sand castle, which the boys crushed eventually!  Too tempting!

The boys had a blast with the squirt guns!

Such a fun day at the beach!!

Later that day we brought dinner to Sea Pines, where there was an awesome park, the light house, a marina, lots of neat shops...

We found a yummy ice cream shop!

And walked out to the pier...

The park had a neat tire swing and a tree house, where we ate dinner.

Our trip was short, but it was great to get away and get some sand between our toes.  We LOVE the beach!!

Cherry Blossom Festival 2012

The Cherry Blossom Festival is a big "to do" in Macon!  There are tons of things to do all week long and we try to get to as many as we can!
Central City Park (within walking distance from our house) has all the carnival rides.  We went down there one afternoon after school.  They had an alligator show...which was cool.  Mostly informative about alligators in general, but we got splashed a couple times so the kids liked that part.  :)

We rode a few rides, of course.  Lily is always watching out for her little bro.

The carousel is a must!

And the bumblebees were fun too!

Cheese!  We're cherry blossoms!!

Another day we went downtown again for free trolly rides with Eliza and her mom, Katie.

And a free horse carriage ride.  Both were very short, but they kids loved it.

Sunday, the last day of the festival, we went to watch the fireworks as Wesleyan College.  I even let the kids stay up a little late to see them!  I know...shocker.  But they loved them and talked about them for days so I'm glad we did it.  What a fun, busy week!  We love Cherry Blossom!!

Random

These pictures don't really go with anything else...just thought they were worth posting.

Lily looking funny in Daddy's new boots.

Lily's artistic side is rubbing off on Henry.  He LOVES to color too!

But he's still ALL boy.  He's setting up his army guys on the window sill.  He knocked them all down shortly after!

Lily looks like this quite often when we are at home.  She has a baby under her shirt and she's pregnant.  I wonder how long this phase will last....

A girl at my church teaches this art classes and I got to go to one.  We all started with a blank white canvas and did it all together, step by step.  You got to pick your own colors and everyone's turned out a little different..but all the same idea.  I was pretty proud of myself.  The teacher wrote the words but everything else I did!

A day at the Clarke's

We try to head to Clarke's every chance we get.  My kids didn't have school today, so we headed to PTC.  Mom came down in the morning, and her and Lily went to lunch with Bubby and Kaylin.  It was Ethan's bday the day before.  Lily was sooo excited!  They had a great time.
Ashlynn was cruising around the couch and took a pit-stop on my leg!  Such a cutie!  She's stranger shy right now, but luckily, she liked me! :)

While Lily was gone, Henry played happily in the dirt.  Surprise, surprise!

Lily and Kaylin made a fort after school.

The day wouldn't be complete without a golf cart ride!  (Notice Lily is bringing along her baby Quin; Kaylin has her "diaper bag")  Such cute girls!  Ethan rode his bike along side us.

We always seem to get filthy at the Clarkes! So much to do outside!  We got a quick bath before heading out...

Lily LOVED holding Ashlynn in the bath.  Can you tell?  Look at that face!
