Lily update; 8 3/4 months

Lily has been such a happy baby lately. She smiles and giggles, and squeals (as you'll see in the video below). She's so curious and wants to check everything out.

She can pull up on this piano by herself, as long as I anchor it so it doesn't topple over on her.

Story time with mom

Lily loves sitting in her rocking chair from Meme

She was very interested in the vacuum today, and was sliding her bum around on the wood floors

I thought she was going to crawl here, but this is as far as she got and sat back down. I don't think she's figured out how to get her legs right; they are almost like indian style under her. I think she's close though! We just need to convince her that crawling is more fun than walking around holding our fingers! It might be a tough sell!!

Pulling up (and squealing)!!

This video is a little long, but she's showing off her lovely new squeal (it's a happy sound, curiously), and how she can pull up on the side of her crib. We lowered the mattress the next day.

Monday

We went up to Mom's/Grandma's on Monday to play with the Clarkes and grandparents. Britt does such a great job of capturing some great Lily shots...I had to stick them up.

Lily's really trying to pull up on stuff now; and can do it on a couple of things. She pulled up on the side of her crib this afternoon, and can pull up on her little play piano. She loves to stand at the couch, but can't really hold on and usually falls over. She still loves walking around holding on to my hands, and she's started to want to explore and leads me over to what she wants to see. Still no crawling yet; she doesn't really like to be on her tummy at all and usually rolls right over when I put here there. We're working on giving kisses; remember the wide open mouth kisses? That's what I get! It's so cute.

High Falls state park

As you saw from Britt's blog, the weather had been beautiful here in Georgia; it would be a shame not to get out and do something!! We went for a hike today at a nearby state park...and y'all know how this babe loves to be outside!! She was having a blast!

I don't know how we managed to get Lily looking at the camera in this one...although she is quite the camera snob!

The falls...

Me 'n "Lil"

Giving her daddy some sugar....so sweet.

Walking around the park (if only I could do this all day long...I'd have a very happy baby!)

Another "teeth shot"

OK, you can definitely see them this time. Those suckers are sharp too!!!

Mullet night at the hockey game!

Of course, the night I didn't bring my camera, they handed out mullet's at the hockey game last night. It was so funny. Everyone looked so strange. Lily wasn't too sure what to think, as you can tell by her first expression...but we sure think she looks pretty silly. Aww, bless her heart. She'll probably hate us one day for these shots! Aren't parents cruel!!?

Teeth??

I don't know if you can see those two little teeth down there, but they are starting to come up farther now. Sheesh!! How long does it take? She's been pulling on her ears a lot lately...maybe they are coming up even more.

She's trying to show you her teeth without my help...but it didn't quite work. :)

Look at that face...and that mess! Those biscuit things are disgusting. Who came up with those anyway?

Lily has discovered her dad's shoulders. She loves it up there. Probably because she can pull his hair. I don't know what is up with her "hair obsession"... it's quite silly..and painful too!
